The Burnout Society – Terms and Conditions

Burnout Society begins exactly where human limits are denied. Welcome to the 21st century. The century located in the best moment of history. The moment to do great things, to change the world, to always be the best. The century where limits don’t exist, where everything is done and everything is achieved.

Every life has a purpose that no one knows and must seek to the ultimate consequences. Study, work, have a family, be beautiful, succeed, have money, have lots of money; and car, house, undergraduate degree, master’s and doctorate. Always be first in everything, be someone, but don’t be yourself. That contradiction is the emotional core of Burnout Society.

Burnout Society and Modern Productivity

Are you depressed? Don’t be! Do you feel like you can’t? Remember that we live in an era where everything is possible! And are you also sad? You can’t be sad! It’s impossible to be afflicted in a world where everything is achievable. Take advantage of your freedom—you no longer live in the age of slavery, now you’re free; free to be your victim and your executioner. Burnout Society transforms freedom into permanent self-exploitation.

Don’t get bored, don’t have free time, be productive, remember you have to be someone. Occupy yourself with multiple things at once. Show yourself on social media, maintain your attention for fifteen seconds, jump from one activity to another, don’t look others in the eye, don’t listen to them; don’t allow yourself boredom or give way to contemplation.

Surround yourself only with those similar to you. Have friends who feed your narcissism and pay attention to your ego as if it were merchandise. Go to parties, get drunk, have wild sex, make a fight club, go to blows with whoever necessary, go home, cry until you fall asleep, get up to work, repeat the loop of self-realization and self-destruction.

Perform, always perform, perform so much that you feel it’s never enough, live with the constant sensation of lack and guilt. Become a burned-out worker, lose your form and identity, be incapable of saying no, you’re in condition to do everything, you can compete against everything and everyone. Don’t allow yourself to be like Bartleby who preferred not to.

Don’t have time for leisure, don’t disconnect from devices, show yourself available, online at all times. Don’t allow yourself improvisation, surprise; plan everything. Don’t waste time with poetry or philosophy. Kill yourself by self-realizing. Kill yourself by optimizing yourself. Your life seems like that of a living dead: you’re too vital to die, too dead to live. That is why Burnout Society feels less like philosophy and more like a diagnosis.
