This Land Is Mine
There exists a conflict from yesterday, today, and perhaps forever that will occupy newspapers and newscasts worldwide. Behind all this conflict is a story that comes practically from the beginning of Man’s times, since they said to each other This land is mine.
The war for that “Holy Land” reaches such a point that death itself fights for it… This land is mine.
We speak of the Israel-Palestine conflict, a tragedy that artist Nina Paley dared to summarize in an animated short that’s part of an audiovisual project not yet finished.
However, Nina manages to portray in these 3 and a half minutes how sad and disastrous human beings can become just to say: This land is mine.
This Land is Mine
A truly remarkable work, worth reading, watching, commenting on, and sharing. Not only for the animation and rhythm so well crafted within each scene, but for the context and dissemination of a war, a story that should make us think and act.
If you want to know everything about the short—for example, the civilizations and religious groups that appear—all the info is on Nina’s blog.
